Our Heritage

  • 1898

    The Fair & Yeager Insurance Agency is an outstanding example of maximum personalized service. The pattern was firmly established by the late Frank E. Yeager, who founded the business in 1898.

  • 1914

    The record of the former F. E. Yeager & Company shows that the founder used excellent judgment in the selection of an associate when the business out grew its one-man phase. In 1914, Arthur B. Fair, then a senior at Natick High School, went to work for Mr. Yeager on a part-time basis.

  • 1919

    In June 1914, Mr. Fair became a full-time associate. During World War I, Mr. Fair served in France, and returned to the firm in April 1919.

  • 1924

    The team of Fair and Yeager successfully expanded the business, and a partnership was formed under the name of F. E. Yeager & Company.

  • 1946

    In 1936, John F. Yeager, son of the founder, a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, became an associate of F. E. Yeager & Company. In 1946, the Fair & Yeager partnership was formed by Arthur B. Fair, Sr. and John F. Yeager.

  • 1952

    Arthur B. Fair, Jr. and Robert E. Fair, both graduates of The College of the Holy Cross, became associated with the firm in 1952 and 1954 respectively. In seeking additional training, Arthur, Jr. graduated from Aetna Insurance Company training school and Robert, from The Travelers training school.

  • 1962

    In 1962, Fair & Yeager acquired the Lewis Insurance Agency of Cochituate. In 1968, Whitney Insurance Agency, an old established Natick firm was acquired. In 1969, the Craig Insurance Agency consolidated with Fair & Yeager and James P. Keating joined the agency at this time.

  • 1968

    In 1968, Fair & Yeager moved from 32 Main Street to it's present, more convenient first floor offices at 10 Main Street. During the following years, the agency kept pace with the growth of the local community and the surrounding area.

  • 1972

    Arthur B. Fair, Sr., although retired in 1972, remained actively engaged in the agency through 1982. In September 1977, John F. Yeager, Minnie Yeager Hutton, bookkeeper for over 55 years, and Alice Moran, secretary to Arthur B. Fair, Sr. for over 40 years, retired.

  • 1978

    On January 1, 1978, the agency became Fair & Yeager Insurance Agency, Inc. with Arthur B. Fair, Jr., President; and Robert E. Fair, Treasurer.

  • 1979

    Arthur B. Fair, III a graduate of Providence College, School of Management, joined the agency in November 1979, subsequently attending Travelers School of Insurance and is now designated a CIC, LIA, CPIA with lifetime membership in the Certified Professional Insurance Agents Society.

  • 1982

    A branch office was opened at 619 Main Street, Centerville, Cape Cod, Massachusetts in June 1982; subsequently, on December 31, 1986 the ownership of the Cape office was assumed solely by Robert E. Fair.

  • 1986

    David G. Fair, a graduate of Framingham State College, joined the agency as a Producer for Personal Lines, Life Insurance and Financial Services, with previous experience at Sun Life.

  • 1987

    Arthur B. Fair, III joined his father Arthur Jr., as a partner in Fair & Yeager Insurance Agency in January, 1987.

  • 1988

    In April 1988, an Open House was held to celebrate the complete renovation and reorganization of both the first and second floors of the company’s offices at 10 Main Street.

  • 1988

    Kathleen Fair Chandley, a graduate of The College of the Holy Cross, joined the agency November 1988 as Account Executive for Commercial Lines, with previous experience at Hartford Insurance Co., and Cigna Insurance.

  • 1989

    On January l, 1989, the Agency became Fair & Yeager Insurance Agency, Inc. with Arthur B. Fair, Jr., President; Arthur B. Fair, III, CIC, LIA, CPIA Senior Vice President and Treasurer; James P. Keating, Vice President – Client Services.

  • 1995

    On January 1, 1995, Arthur B. Fair, III was named President of the Agency; Arthur B. Fair, Jr., assuming the role of Chairman; James P. Keating, Vice President Client Services; and David G. Fair was named Vice President Life/Financial Services.

  • 1997

    In December 1997, the Agency converted to a new management system, AMS/AFW which allowed the ability to bridge between other rating software in a windows based environment, and this prepared them for the next phase which would be Company download of a policy information which the Agency began in the summer of 1998 and Internet Access to company information in the summer of 1999.

  • 1998

    January 1998 brought the dawn of a new century with the Agency Celebrating its 100th Anniversary. The 100th Anniversary celebration included being honored at Family Day on the Common & the traditional July 4th parade. Also, the Agency made generous contributions of $500 grants to each School in Natick.

  • 1998

    Also, established this year was a new division of Fair & Yeager Insurance. Fair Financial Services Insurance, with David G. Fair serving as President, will further develop the Life & Financial Services needs of the customers previously provided by Fair & Yeager.

  • 2003

    Michael J. Fair, a graduate of Springfield College, joined the agency in December 2003 as Sales Executive, targeting new business for the agency and is now designated as an AAI and CISR.

  • 2006

    Fair and Yeager was awarded the Five Star Agency Award of Distinction by the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents. The Agency was recognized for their excellence in five areas; Customer Focus, Management Leadership, Human Resources, Process, and Products and Service.

    The Agency completed renovations of their 10 Main Street, Natick, MA office, as well as introduced an updated and revised website.

    Fair and Yeager was awarded the Five Star Agency Award of Distinction by the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents. The Agency was recognized for their excellence in five areas; Customer Focus, Management Leadership, Human Resources, Process, and Products and Service.
